No more barbersOne of the rare times a product does what it's supposed to do. I had been using a product for the past 45 years but it required a special blade and up to 5 years ago I had been able to get them but the company went out of business and I had to use something else that was OK but didn't do the job as well. Despair set in until I ordered the Seki Haircutter which uses ordinary double edge blades. It works and it looks like it will last a long time, probably longer than me.
Easy to use and works
Years ago, I had a little device called a hair wiz. It wasn't as fancy as the Seki edge but I loved it! It's an easy way to cut your own hair (and save on visits to the beauty salon). Just be careful you don't get get carried away! I cut my hair so short one time (just combing thru it and wasn't paying attention) that my mom made me buy a wig before she would go out with me! :)It's a good price and was shipped promptly.
Something I have been seeking for years
Have been looking for a tool of this nature for year to keep my bweard in trim - couldn't be happier

Works well
This is a sturdy, all metal device. Mine came slightly misassembled out of the box. It was pulling hair more than cutting it. Looking at it for a few seconds I could see that the sliding part of the blade was misaligned with the clamp/handle. It took about 30 seconds to fix this. The clippers are held together by a wingnut, and really easy to dissassemble/reassemble. As another reviewer noted, the included attachment does not fit on these clippers. A web search for the same item showed an attachment with clips on either side that would, in theory, make it work. The useless attachment is the only reason I deducted a star.Once assembled correctly, it cut both my arm hair(fine) and beard(coarse) with ease.
A real loser
Don't buy this clipper. To begin with, the clip-on attachment (to cut hair at a different height)doesn't fit on the clipper, and falls off. Secondly, the clipper itself does not cut hair well and is awkward to use.

disappointingI was hoping for a hand clipper that was noiseless, and this was. However, it didn't trim my small 2 dogs coats like I expected...it just seemed to yank at it and not cut it. The dogs are 9 lb terriers with medium/short hair, and I just wanted to trim their paws and clean up their necks. I had a hand clipper years ago that worked great. This one didn't. After getting their hair yanked, albeit noiselessly by the hand clipper, they were more cooperative listening to the hum of an electric clipper...at least it trimmed their coat painlessly!Am wondering just what the hand clipper is now successfully used for. Didn't work for me at all!
Not useful for cats --- :(
The clippers seem well-made and sturdy. They fit well in my hand, and don't have an animal-spooking motor on them, which is why I bought them. I have a VERY hairy Persian cat that sometimes needs a matt trimmed out, or a "sanitary clip" performed on her bottom. Unfortunately, these clippers just aren't sharp enough to cut the baby-fine, dense Persian undercoat. They might be good for trimming whiskers on a horse, or maybe even on other animals with coarse hair. But a fluffy Persian cat with a cotton-like undercoat? Nuh-uh. They wouldn't even cut my own hair. I'll probably eventually find a use for them, but for their intended use of cat-grooming, they get a zero.
Worthless Wahl Clipper
Chinese copy with Wahl name. Totally useless trimming my Shih-Tsu- Griffon mix. She is frightened of electric clippers so I tried this product. It pulled her hair and did not cut. $10 shipping to try and return so it cost me $10 to try a $12.95 product. Maybe it'll trim horses but no good on my dog.

love itI love it. It's so easy to figure out how to use. I did my 7 yr olds hair, which is curly but this year she wants me to straighten it for her and the bottom of her hair was hard to get even because it was so thick, so I took this and razored out the bottom so I have less to get straight. Then I took it and gave her long side bangs and blended it all in, with in 30 minutes of opening this. I thinned out my own layers and I have really long hair so it was super easy and I was surprised. We look great. I have two teens that my stylist always uses a razor on, it looks great but grows out fast so they are always getting their hair done....now I can do it myself, shape their layers and cut dead ends with out a problem and save money. Now we can always look polished and pampered. I have not studied to do hair yet so if I can use it, you can use it.
Must Have Hair Accessory
The Diamond Edge Platinum Hair Shaper was fun and easy to use. I was able to thin out my hair to the desired level, by myself, in about an hour - as it was my first time cutting my hair. The product itself is an excellent product. I mean, for $5 it simply is a must-have. I would recommend this to everyone with thick hair, or even those that would like a quick touch up without having to pay $30 for an inessential haircut. Like the perfect coverup and the convenient flatiron, every girl should have the Diamond Edge Platinum Hair Shaper.
Hair Shaper.
This is my first straight razor. It is about 50X faster than using scissors to cut your hair. Razor doesnt rust, and the whole thing comes apart easily for cleaning and drying. The handle is durable and sturdy, but I wish it had come with a little carry bag or something to put the spare clips in.

Easy to useScaredy Cut silent clipper was so easy to use on my skittish cat. He doesn't like anything that has sound as it scares him and is hard to hold him while grooming. With Scaredy Cut, my cat was easy to control while I cut his long Maine Coon hair off for the Summertime. I was able to get an even cut using the attached comb. If your cat won't stop fidgeting or is always trying to run away due to electric razor noises, this is a great tool to use; It makes no sound so it won't scare even the "scarediest" cat from running under the couch in fear of the noise.
Nice alternative
I have two maltese dogs who get groomed every 6 weeks at $100 a trip. When I came across this product on amazon I was a bit skeptical, yet hopeful at the same time. My skepticism was completely unfounded. I've never cut my dogs hair before so I was very surprised that it came out pretty decent. It looks better then the job the "professional" dog groomers do at the big box pet chains. Scaredy Cut was easy to use and I don't have to chase my dogs around the house for an hour like I did when I bought the $200 pet clippers. My only complaint would have to be the finger and thumb hole. If they were slightly larger, the scissors would be more comfortable to use.

I was thinking about getting some manual hair clippers but I don't know if they would be as useful for me without the different sized guides. I haven't come across such guides online so far, and was wondering if the electric clipper guides would work
