Perfect fan, Perfect price!I like this fan because it blends in with the ceiling and doesn't look like a big ugly ceiling fan with stupid looking ugly lights on it. No "fake" wooden blades. No ugly brass. It's about as "simple" as you can get, quiet as it could possibly be, and inexpensive. It is my opinion that ceiling fans should be "felt" and not seen or heard!We put this in a guest bedroom and it replaced a hideous looking LOUD "Hampton Bay" from Home Depot that was quite frankly shameful. lolMy husband did not understand why I chose no lights on it until it was installed and he could see how much nicer the room looked just with lamp lighting and no ugly fan lights.
Moves air - quietly
Replaced an older fan which was noisy and didn't move much air unless set to the highest speed (where it added vibration to the noise). The new Hunter is silent (all you can hear is the blades moving the air) and is totally vibration free without installing the balancing kit.
Attractive and functional
We bought two of these for our office and they are simply attractive, run so quietly we forget it's on, and move the air quite well on three speeds. Although not mentioned anywhere in the literature, they are wired to accept a light kit. We purchased a Hunter light kit for one of the fans, and it works perfectly.

Great Fan!
I searched for a fan that would produce plenty of air flow and would hug the ceiling. This fan replaced an old oak/gold tone fan. I have had several compliments on this fan. The installation was a snap and is extremely quiet. I would recommend this fan to anyone that has a low ceiling.
Ok, but wobbly
The fan looks nice in our daughters room but was more challenging than other fans to install. We spent 45 minutes trying to get it to stop wobbling but it still wobbles some. We probably would not purchase this one again. The chains are difficult to pull too.

Perfect for Small BedroomsThis is the fourth Hunter Low Profile ceiling fan we've purchased for our home. This 42-inch four-blade model is perfect for smaller bedrooms with eight-foot ceilings. The housing fits nicely on the ceiling where the light fixture was, it doesn't hang down too low, and it's very quiet for sleeping. Hunter suppresses the motor sound by using rubber bumpers between the mounting bracket and ceiling, soft rubber grommets for each blade, and of course a quiet motor. We're very satisfied with this product, and our first two are still quiet after three years.
cool and quiet
We love the new Hunter fan. It is very quiet and has the lowest profile of any fan we saw. It is great for low ceilings like ours.

outstanding itemI purchased this fan from Amazon to replace an existing unit. I recommend Hunter fans without reservation. The installation instructions were very complete and clear. Assembly was straightforward.The fan runs perfectly! It is absolutely silent. The fan runs smoothly without vibration. In use for three months without any problem. It effectively circulates the air in a 16 x 22 foot room without creating undue drafts and it looks good. The low-profile design does not inhibit the ability to move the air.There are three speeds. The fan rotation direction is reversible. (I am not sure if this info was in the product description.)A great product.
Arrived the next business day!
Great fan, but the on-line directions didn't indicate that ONLY one remote control works with this unit. The Hunter universal remote DOESN't work with this fan - the one that works with this fan is the Basic on/off remote control #27157. I installed this in my 5th wheel trailor.
Nice fan, but doesn't provide much lighting
I got the antique pewter color. Fan is nice looking and quiet, but beware if you expect to light a room. The lighting fixture will take a maximum 19 watt fluorescent bulb. Still getting used to the dimness!

Tiny fan, moves a lot of airThis fan works great! I installed it last night. It spins very quickly on its highest setting, and it moves a lot of air for its size. The bulb socket is a miniature Edison base rated at 65W, so it may be a bit dim for larger rooms.I hooked this fan up to a fan/light control switch on the wall, so I wanted to remove the pullchains. To do so, perform the following BEFORE MOUNTING THE FAN and AT YOUR OWN RISK:* Remove the three screws that hold the light socket over the housing, and pull open the cover.* There are a bunch of wires and wire nuts that attach the fan speed pullchain, fan direction switch, and light pullchain together.* Unscrew the fan speed pullchain switch and the light pullchain switch. Yank all the wires out of both switches.* The black and blue wires go straight through the fan to the other side - they're coming directly from the source.* To bypass the light pullchain, connect the blue wire to the black wire of the light...
Great Size - Noisy
If you are purchasing this just based on the size and appearance, the fan is great. I think the thing is noisy and has a constant low level hum. I have 4 other Hunter fans in my home and all are extremely quiet - Unfortunately, this was the only one I could find in this small size so I was limited to Westinghouse. It went into my daughter's room and she says that I am the only one to notice the hum so I guess it's OK for 50 bucks.

I am surprised by the noisy comment. I installed this fan in my daughters bedroom and I hardly notice it's on. It has worked out quite well and the instructions were great.
