Excellent BuyThis ceiling fan is an excellent buy for the money. I was pleasantly suprised at how it looked after I installed it in my Living Room. I have read the other reviews about the fan making noise, so I was a bit skeptical about buying it, but I bought it anyways. Boy I am glad I did! This is a really good looking ceiling fan. Gives the room a classy, but not too flashy look. Every person who has come to the house after I installed this has complimented on it. As far as noise, I experienced none. Just make sure when you put the blades together with the arms, make certain that the screws are good and tight. I used a cordless DeWalt drill with the torque setting set low to #12 to assure a good tight fit. I actually was so impressed with the looks and operation of this fan that I immeadiately went back to amazon.com and bought another fan exactly like this one, for my kitchen. Same review - absolutely no problems, none whatsoever. Shipping was very fast with the free super saver...
Easy install and quiet!
I have installed several ceiling fans in the past, but the people at Westinghouse really made the install easy with their fan. Unlike most fans which require you to hold the fan motor up while wiring it in, Westinghouse put a separate plug on their motor. You wire up the plug to the home outlet, then lift the motor up. Could not be easier. It took 30 minutes total to install.The fan is very quiet during operation. The fan output is also very impressive.I am very happy with the fan and would highly recommend it.
A few things you might like to know
1. This is a 3-speed-plus "off" fan with a reverse-direction switch and an attached light assembly. Both can be controlled by pull cords if desired.2. The instructions are adequate, but assume knowledge of safe wiring and connection practices. This is not an absolute beginner's project, though if you have any successful experience in house wiring, you can probably do this.3. For planning purposes, the complete job (removing old fixture and installing fan and light unit) took me a little over 2 1/2 hours. I am a careful and methodical amateur. You are working at the top of a ladder in awkward positions, so there is a high likelihood of dropping screws. If you are working over a deep pile carpet, put down a drop cloth or you will wish you had!4. Westinghouse needs better quality control. There was a missing wire nut in the fan interface wiring which was instantly obvious, and there weren't anywhere near enough metal washers for the fan blade...

Tiny fan, moves a lot of airThis fan works great! I installed it last night. It spins very quickly on its highest setting, and it moves a lot of air for its size. The bulb socket is a miniature Edison base rated at 65W, so it may be a bit dim for larger rooms.I hooked this fan up to a fan/light control switch on the wall, so I wanted to remove the pullchains. To do so, perform the following BEFORE MOUNTING THE FAN and AT YOUR OWN RISK:* Remove the three screws that hold the light socket over the housing, and pull open the cover.* There are a bunch of wires and wire nuts that attach the fan speed pullchain, fan direction switch, and light pullchain together.* Unscrew the fan speed pullchain switch and the light pullchain switch. Yank all the wires out of both switches.* The black and blue wires go straight through the fan to the other side - they're coming directly from the source.* To bypass the light pullchain, connect the blue wire to the black wire of the light...
Great Size - Noisy
If you are purchasing this just based on the size and appearance, the fan is great. I think the thing is noisy and has a constant low level hum. I have 4 other Hunter fans in my home and all are extremely quiet - Unfortunately, this was the only one I could find in this small size so I was limited to Westinghouse. It went into my daughter's room and she says that I am the only one to notice the hum so I guess it's OK for 50 bucks.
NOT NOISY
I am surprised by the noisy comment. I installed this fan in my daughters bedroom and I hardly notice it's on. It has worked out quite well and the instructions were great.

Great fan, tricky installAmazon shipped this item me very quickly and I installed it just today. Installation with this fan was trickier than others I had installed. There were too many screws, literally...I had screws left over and I followed the instructions precisely. The install took about 2 hours.The fan is very quiet, and the light is sufficient. I wish the light could dim, but I knew it couldn't going into it. I'd check the Hunter website and make sure the blades co-ordinate with your existing decor...the website shows the true colors more accurately than Amazon's pictures.
Not recommended!
Let me preface this with two items. First, I remodel homes as a hobby and have installed many fans in the past. Second, I have used Hunter products in several previous projects and been happy with them. I don't know what has happened at Hunter, but everything about their products have gone downhill. The instructions are horrible. One example, the drawing of many of the screws do not match what comes with the fan. It almost seems like the assembly instructions were done in another country. On the subject of parts - some were missing. The overall assembly design is also terrible. Finally, the quality of the fan is poor. The remote control is made of crappy plastics and is intermittent. I am so put off by this fan that I gave it away and will never buy another Hunter product.I absolutely LOVE Amazon and will continue to use them, but I would not recommend buying this type of item from them. Why? Because by the time you realize what a piece of crap this item is...
After initial problem, now it works great
I just want to update my review - this fan wasn't working at first, it would come on several times a day by itself, either the light or the fan itself. Hunter sent me out a new part, but that didn't fix it. I called again, and they sent out another part - now the fan is working great now. It's been two full weeks and hasn't come on by itself, so I think it's fixed! The customer service was excellent.I like the more "modern" look of this fan.I've raised my "stars" rating to 4 since it is working now. It's not a 5 because of the initial problem, and one other design issue I don't like. The way the glass is installed over the light, it's very difficult to take off, as the metal ring with three screws in it holds the glass and needs to be removed, but you need to hold the glass at the same time. It's almost a two person job (on ladders!) to remove this, or you risk dropping the glass. Of course with a flourescent light - I won't need to remove this very...

Great Fan!!!I'm writing this review because I always find it helpful to read others reviews when considering a purchase. I could only find 1 review of this fan anywhere on line, so here goes.This fan looks great and works great. The only negative would be the small lights, they are the small, decorative, max 45 or 60 watt bulbs. This fan/light does not put out a ton of light, but we didn't buy it for that. The light is fine, it just isn't super powerful. The fan on the other hand rocks. We had considered 2 other fans, but they both had questionable reviews as to the amount of air they moved. That is not an issue with this fan. On all 3 settings, you can feel the air, on medium and high, it really moves.We have this fan mounted in a large great room roughly 10 feet above us, it sits on a 5' downrod and then the unit with light is an additional 18 inches. It looks gorgeous, really moves air, and I installed a dual, single switch that controls the fan and light on...
Super Quiet, Great Customer Service
After reading all the reviews on Amazon about this fan I decided to order one. I have a very large master bedroom and the previous 60" fan I had just didn't move enough air. It also made little noises which drove me nuts. I'm very sensitive to clicking, knocking, ticking, ect when trying to sleep and needed a fan that was very quiet. This fan turned out to be a very good fan and I have listed some pros and cons about it below. The main reason I didn't rate it a 5 is because I just don't feel it moves as much air as it advertises.PROS:1. It's super quiet. This fan uses Hunters Anti-Wobble system and mounts in a way I've never seen a fan mount before. This mounting is a godsent for people like me and all I hear when this fan is on is the air it moves.2. It's fairly easy to install. Just follow the directions and it took me about 30 minutes doing it myself.3. Hunter has excellent customer service. One of the fan blade irons did not have...
Easy Install, excellent design
Installation was simple and even though it is 70" wide, it was completely balanced after I put it up. Keep in mind it's also on a 6 foot downrod as well.
New harbor breeze ceiling fan with remote operates other one too. What do I do?
I just added another harbor breeze fan to my house professionally installed and its remote is operating it and the other harbor breeze fan. I do not want both fans coming on and off at the same time. The worst part is the lights coming on in the middle
Your first answer is right except that it is not that much work to make it right.The receiver in the fan should be up in the canopy. The remote on the wall will have its code by the battery compartment

Mountain Harbor Inn, Dandridge, Tennessee - Weekend Family Getaway
The suite we reserved is called 'The Condo of Rich and Famous' offering three bedrooms (one in the loft), three bathrooms plus an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, kitchen and dining room attached to a large living room as well as a private outdoor patio. Mountain Harbor Inn is also known for their signature desserts offered to all guests between 6:00pm - 8:00pm every night in the dining room. This beautiful room was in the interior of the suite just off the master bathroom and a walk-in closet. But on the second night, the staff kindly took them to our suite for us to enjoy after dinner at Southern Comforts Cafe. But that's just how it is. The room is beautiful with a private chandelier adding to the feeling of decadence. The suite has a private entrance and offered lots of privacy for our family. Jed liked this room because of the lack of windows so he can sleep in the dark....
