I have wired receiver per instructions. The light works find. The fan speed is set on high. When you press the speed on the transmitter it only works on medium control. But the fan runns on low speed.
The problem was a bad remote.
If the fan has more than one speed, you need to have it set on hi speed, then use remote to select fan speeds.

I purchased a Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan (472-219). Separately I bought a Hampton Bay Remote. The fan did not come with a fan at all. They both allow for a light at the top, a fan and a light at the bottom. If I can wire this remote to this fan, where does
It is simmple but difficult to explain.. YOu have to have a remote control hand held of course.. and INSIDE of the unit, you have t o wire in a receptor for the r emote.. The frequency of that receptor and the hand held r eport must be on the same frequency.

this is normal - the fan will run this way if the temperature in the room is at one degree too warm. that is, the fan should start turning according to the thermostat setting but it doesn't start soon enough to suit the occupant(s). we ignore it and let it do whatever it wants and at some point the room either warms or cools so the fan runs faster or turns itself off. Running this way has never harmed the fans (our Hunters have been in our house for going on twenty years now). Sometimes the fan runs very S-l-o-w-l-y. It doesn't seem to hurt the thermostat to have to switch the fan on/off/on/off either. For the most part, the fan starts and stops when it should....
