This clipper pays for itself
I use this clipper set to trim my husband's very short hair. He used to go to a stylist who charged him $25 a cut. Because his ideal cut is very close all around, he needed to get a new cut every 4 weeks or so, and those fees really add up quickly. We finally cut the cord with the stylist and bought a home clipper set. The clipper is powerful and does not get too warm. It is easy to use and the included video makes it easy to learn to cut hair. I haven't attempted any of the more complicated cuts, we just use a Number One comb all over my husband's head and clean up the edges without any comb at all. However, we do find all the accessories to be very useful; the brush for cleaning the clippers, the lubricating oil, and the brush for sweeping stray hairs off the neck. Occasionally I use the shears to trim the hair around his ears, too. The kit also has a mirror and a plastic apron, which are helpful to have. You really could use this kit to get started with all kinds of cuts,...

Very glad I bought this!
Having never cut a single hair my entire life, I was a bit skeptical of actually giving my 2-year old son a haircut. But I watched the DVD (very helpful) and then went to work. It was really easy, and the results look pretty darn good, despite the fact that I cut his hair WHILE HE WAS ASLEEP!The actual cutter was a lot quieter than I thought it would be. It glided easily thru the hair, with no tugging or pulling. The company has been around for quite some time, so I feel confident that these clippers will also be around for many years to come. Lots of cutting attachments for different lengths, which is really a bonus.One downfall....the "cape" is nothing more than a garbage bag with ties. Totally worthless. Go to your local Sally Beauty Supply and get a real cape for a couple of bucks.

Save money and get a Great Haircut, too!
Do yourself and your family a favor - stop paying upwards of $30 a shot for your husband's haircut! This wonderful system will pay for itself after its first use, and can be used ad infinitum with little maintenance.We bought this terrific little clipper kit over a year ago and haven't looked back. My husband always had had longish hair before then, but now prefers his trimmer look. We keep it about 3/4 inch on the sides and 1" on top with it longer in the front to hide his hairline. We didn't even need the DVD to show us how to do that! It's pretty obvious how to use the tools. Okay, I admit it, after the first "mistake" of trimming him to 1/4 inch all over, we learned our lesson, but hey, hair grows back!The right and left ear pieces didn't really work for us, but maybe you can figure them out. For us, they kind of give a ridged look. The scissors and other tools are wonderful, though. It's a very complete set and you won't have to add to it at all...

Talk about sharp!
I bought this sharpening system for my Henckels, they are the light of my kitchen and I use them daily for cooking. I hadn't sharpened them since I bought them and the honing just wasn't doing it anymore. I shopped around and found this item at my local hardware store for TWICE the price, so I bought mine here on Amazon.I agree with one of the other reviewers on the size - they are a little small for full size knives, requiring the user to work just a little bit harder. This is the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.This sharpening system got my knives razor sharp - literally. I was able to shave hair from my forearm with my Santoku after sharpening with this product. The kit is well made, with the plastic parts being very thick and durable - I expect it to last a while.Because the base is smooth and flat, I recommend putting it down on something non stick (I used a damp towel) when sharpening larger knives, it helped a lot.

Nice Clippers
Very satisfied with this unit. The swivel head is very useful, especially for cutting the left side of the head using the right hand. You swivel it 45, then 90 degrees one way to cut from the back of the head, and 45 then 90 degrees the other way to cut from the front of the head. Nice height adjustments with a wide range. It is difficult to get hair to stand up enough for larger guard lengths so clippers can trim the tips off, but that is the art of hair cutting. I suspect that is why at salons they do it by hand with comb and scissors. I use a brush to help it stand up on top just prior to the clippers coming in. I use #6 on top, #3 on the sides and back, and #2 on the lower sides and back, in that order. I do it once a week just prior to a shower, and have a small canister vacuum cleaner to clean up the small amount of hair in the bathroom. Bathroom has great light and mirrors. Just prior to showering, I plug unit in to recharge then put the vacuum away. It is recharged...

Excellent trimmer!
This is the first time I've used a trimmer and I love it. Wasn't sure what to expect, whether it would hurt or if I would be sneezing all day. None of that happened. The trimmer is:- very easy to set up- requires a AA battery (not included)- washable- operates at an acceptable noise level (low humming sound)- gets rid of hair with no pull or tuck feelingI used this for my nose and ears and it worked great. The rounded cap on top has a blade on the inside, the blade is placed slightly lower than the tip of the cap. This helps avoid any skin tucks, making it completely safe to use. There is a small opening in the top cap that can be exposed by rotating the head of the trimmer. The opening here is what makes the trimmer washable, it lets water in to wash the blade and also drains it out.Haven't tried other trimmers so I can't really compare but this one worked just fine and I'm sticking to it.

I like it
Years ago, I wanted a Panasonic and instead received a Remington as a gift. Hated but used it for years until finally I dropped it and broke the battery cover.I was shocked to see the bad and mixed reviews on the other Panasonic trimmers. So, I went on Panasonic's site and looked at all the models. This one looks like a response to all of the negative reviews. I took a chance because there were no reviews about it on Amazon. Well, turns out it works GREAT. Very quiet and trims great. I was worried that it would be too large (as the photo appears), but it is actually small (the right size).

Just like the pros... I think...
I have been through three of the 'rechargeable' trimmer/clippers over the last few years. They work well in the beginning, but the power, which leaves you wanting to begin with, fades over time with cycling of the battery and eventually they die. As expensive as the good ones are ($40-$90), it is cost prohibitive to repair them, so they get chucked into the trash and a new one is purchased. I was tired of throwing my money away and for years I have admired the heavy duty looking trimmers I have always (and I mean forever) seen used by hair professionals. They look like they are indestructible. I also equated the quality with cost and assumed that as a tool of a trade they would demand a steep fee to acquire one.Well whaddaya know? The Wahl is a very similar version and it is half the price of the rechargeables... it works better, smoother and with less effort.... comes with a veritable toolchest of attachments including some combs, a scissors and would you believe it even...

Sturdy, Quality trimmer
I have now used the clippers a couple of times and can say that they are a great product. It was very sturdy in my hand and felt like a professional quality trimmer. There was no jamming or binding of the clippers - it glided through my hair with no problems (although I do have fairly thin hair, hence I cut it very short). I only used the trimmer and not any of the attachments - I cut my hair very short using the blade only and no length guide - so I can't comment on those. However, I must agree with other posters that the case could use some work - all of the pieces pretty much fly around loose in the case and there really isn't a good way to store everthing. Wahl should have designed the case differently, so that there would be a place to put each accessory (kind of like how a CD binder works). Again, this doesn't affect me much since I don't use the attachments. I highly recommend these clippers and would recommend to a friend in the market for doing their own trimming at...

Excellent! Very Complete Set
I began cutting my hair about a year ago and was using my old oster from costco that was maybe 5-7 years old. I had a lot of broken guards and the blades were starting to make a lot of noise. I did some research and found these to be a decent set for the price. It has so many guards and the clipper itself cuts really solidly. I like the extra trimmer to cut the sideburns. I cut my hair every 2 or 3 weeks now and have no worries that it isnt cutting evenly. If it does cut unevenly its my fault! Overall im very satisfied and would buy it again. Amazon was even cheaper than walmart for me when i check the prices. Go do some shopping.
