Excellent quality!
I used to have to buy those 1 pound chunks of beeswax even if I only needed a little bit. What a pain to melt it! It always made such a mess - I'd much rather buy these little bars. The wax is perfect, smells fantastic and comes in handy for all sorts of crafts and projects!
awesome
This wax is spectacular. I have a larger chunck of organic wax that is nothing like this. This smells very clearly of honey. the oz bars make handling much easier. and if not for the S/H, this product would be a total steal. I love this product. BTW I use it to make lip gloss/balm, and put it in lotions too. divine. worth it. get it!
This smells amazing!
Quality Value Depot is definitely an amazing seller! This is my 2nd time purchasing this product. Once from my dad's account and now from my account. This smells amazing and it's cool how it doesn't come in a huge block so it's much more convenient than the 1 lb ones.If you're looking for natural lip balm, here is a great recipe for a small container:8 tsp sweet almond oil2 tsp beeswax1 tsp honeyThe sweet almond oil, as well as the beeswax, will soften your lips and keep them moisturized and the honey will make it smell sweet and will also help preserve the balm. Honey is too thick for bacteria to grow in so it is a great natural preservative. If you're looking to make lip stick with this, here is another great recipe by percentage of weight (not organic):Beeswax: 13%Shea Butter 5%Castor oil 43%Jojoba oil 21%Vitamin E Oil 3%Fractionated Coconut: 8%Carnauba Wax: 7%For the...

Don't listen to others...these work!
My daughter had the most horrible build-up of earwax any doctor had ever seen. (from frequent ear infections as a toddler) She had wax literally filling her ear canal, all the way to the opening, packed hard! They tried and tried to remove it, soften it with peroxide, warm water, everything. What they ended up doing was making blood pour out of her ear and she was screaming! So I took her home and did some research online and found out about ear candles. We immediately purchased 20 of them (for use for her and our other family members) It took 11 ear candles for ONE ear and 7 for the other. It literally got out EVERY LAST BIT of earwax! They work! She could hear again and her ear canal was perfectly clear. The doctors were shocked. We've used them ever since.
Ear Candles
Ok, so I loved these Ear Candles! I purchased a different kind at a Health Store a while back ago and nothing really happened, plus (I clean my ears religously after the shower). Though when I tried these Ear Candles, let's just say, THEY WORKED. And I will be buying these again.Another thing, if you have allergies really bad this definitely takes the pressure out of your head! It's amazing. I never thought a paper wax candle could do this, but it does.
Name says Beeswax; made with Food Grade Wax
Why do you say beeswax? Are you trying to confuse people who might think they are buying a better product, but are actually getting an inferior product? Beeswax burns leaving little residue, and food grade wax will clog the candle repeatedly during the session. You should not have beeswax in the name. That is misleading. They still work, but it is a hassle to clear the tip every other minute...disrupts the soothing feeling!

They need to reengineer
I love beeswax candles so when I saw that UCO was making them for their candle lanterns I was so excited! While these work ok, I think they're maybe using the wrong wick size. The candle I have been using burns unevenly to the point it starts to burn over the rim of the holder. Also, you need to trim these to keep the wick down where the white candles don't really need this.On the plus side they are more enviromentally sound and have a lovely aroma. If UCO would work on the wick and burning issue, then they would have a great product. I think they used the same molds and wicks as the their traditional white candles completely ignoring the fact that beeswax burns differently and needs to be managed accordingly. They really need to team up with Blue Corn Candles (who specializes in beeswax) and make a superior product. I would gladly pay the $10+ for these if they were as efficient as the their traditional white candles.
Perfect for Mini Candle Lantern
First: Yes, they are really very expensive for candles. These fit into UCO (or similar) breakdown candle lanterns. The lanterns usually come with paraffin candles, which are great and last a long time. These replacement candles are made from beeswax, however. They do last considerably longer than the paraffin versions. What I really like about them, however, is that they give off a really pleasing, mild scent as they burn. I use these when I'm illuminating the inside of my tent or cabin rather than the other ones. I also appreciate that they are a natural resource. The quality is high, and they burn very evenly and as long as advertised. My experience is that the wicks on these have been self-trimming and have never broken off between uses. These seem to have held up well in the hot environments of the desert, my enclosed gear box, and the interior of my truck, never melting to the point of being misshapen. But the cost, you say? Well, yeah...
unco supports their warranty
uco had a bad batch of bees wax candles when they were made aware of this they immediatly replaced the dammaged product with out any hesitation, they do back their products

x-mas present
I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas, she loves it! She can't get over how long the sections last. I've seen this candle with an aluminum finish but I think the antiqued / bronzed finish looks much richer.
Fun & easy to use.
The Candle-by the Hour is a nice source of mood lighting. It is easy to use, as the included instructions are clear, and beeswax is pliable. It is self-extinguishing, which increases safety, and the wax does not drip, as long as you make sure to straighten out the exposed section of candle. Plus, being a natural wax, beeswax is environmentally friendly. It burns cleanly and is a renewable resource. Finally, I love the "retro" look of the stand.
Spin spin spin.
I ordered this candle as a gift for my mom.It is a great table piece, with a copper stand, and real wax candle. The candle is entertaining to watch as it slowly melts down and eventually goes out.I have no complaints about the candle at all--it has a sturdy base, it doesn't burn down quickly or oddly, and it has a strong flame. It's actually so nice to look at that my parents have stopped using it just so people can notice the candle...but that's not how it should be used anyway.Either way, it's a great product, and it made my mom smile--and that's what counts.

Can you use candle wax instead of bee wax to paint on fabric when dyeing?

May 16, 2008 by K S | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling

I have plenty of candles. I just didn't know if you could replace bees wax for candle wax so that you can do imaging dye jobs on fabrics. I also forget what this process is called anybody know what I'm talking about. : )

Using wax as a resist when dyeing fabric is called batik. You can use candle wax, which is usually 100% paraffin. Most batik artists prefer to use a blend of 85% paraffin with 15% beeswax. Paraffin is a hard wax which crumbles easily; beeswax does not

Western Montana beekeepers take delivery of insects with interest buzzing

31.12.69
“I just want to help the bees survive,” said Dorothy Bayer as she held a three-pound package of bees close to her chest. The 11-year-old had driven down from Hamilton with her parents to pick up a starter colony from bee expert and University of Montana professor Jerry Bromenshenk. 5 million when people like Bromenshenk started sounding the colony collapse disorder warnings around 2006. There, they took delivery of more than 200 packages of Carniolan bees – roughly 1. From a high of 11 million beekeepers in North America 40 years ago, the ranks had dropped to 2. The mysterious colony collapse disorder that pushed the world’s honeybee industry to crisis also pulled dozens of Missoulians to Fort Missoula on Friday. 7 million, thanks largely to amateur interest like Bayer’s.
