Temporary cabinet pull for apartment dwellersIf you live in an apartment as I do, it's important to come up with solutions to little problems that are inexpensive and won't get you in hot water with the management folks. Odd as it may seem, these holiday hooks from 3M are perfect for a common problem with lower-cost kitchen cabinets.The cabinets in my apartment have no pulls, just a routed indentation in the bottom of each door. Without knobs, they'll develop pesky nail gouges or cooking residue over time. So I wanted knobs for the cabinets, and of course I'm not allowed to drill into them. Since I'm staying here for years, the knobless cabinets would annoy me every day without proper pulls. What to do?The 3M brass hooks are a perfect solution. Strong enough to pull a cabinet door of any size, the small and medium versions make great temporary "knobs" for kitchen cabinets. The best hooks and totally multi purpose
These things are the best. I use them all over the house for hanging just about everything. I use them as towel hooks in the bathroom, a hairdryer hook in the bedroom, xmas stockings over the mantle for the holidays, potholders in the kitchen...you name it.
Perfect for hanging our stockings on the mantle this year!
I purchased these to hang 3 stockings on our very large fireplace mantle and they were perfect - they are a little bit taller than I expected (measure first!) but a nice heavy metal and lovely finish. Installation is a snap and we were very pleased with the finished look. When we are ready to move/remove them, it looks to be a breeze.

Spacing for DVD's is too tightI bought this cabinet and I'm somewhat dissatisfied.The assembly is not complicated, it uses bolts with cam locks.PRO's: Finish, color, enclosed to keep dust out.CON's: poor door hinge design; it's too small and spacing for DVD's is very restrictive.The doors do not close evenly and make contact with the shelving.DVD space is lost because of the top door magnets.Summary: nice looks but lack of spacing between DVD/shelves and doors causes problems with proper clsosing. Everything is very tightly packed.
Wish I would have read the other reviews before buying this item
I thought this cabinet was a great deal, what with the free shipping and all. Well, when I opened the box to put it together, the top was dented. Looks as though it was thrown at some point. I guess its a good thing its the part that faces the wall. You lose a whole shelf if you use the support beam. I wish I would have read that review throughly. Also you lose space on top because of the magnets that hold the doors together. Its pretty wobbly. I'm not sure if I'll even keep this cabinet. I have 2 small childen and the last thing I need is for it to fall on one of them. Yes, they include a drywall screw to screw the unit into the wall..but comeon.. make a sturdier piece of furniture! If you don't have alot of cds/dvds to store and don't mind a shotty piece of furniture, then by all means ..ignore this review.
Not great
I purchased this to sit next to my 52 inch LCD entertainment system. It looks very sharp. No complaints there. The design is very poor. The door won't shut all of the way because the hinge is not set in the correct place. When the doors are shut, there is a gap between them. The shelving arrangement is complicated because in the center of the back wall there is a support beam that doesn't allow the doors to shut if DVD's sit on that shelf. I have worked around it by repositioning the shelves but it is a pain.

Very cheap quality - Don't buy itI purchased this armoire based on the positive comments from other buyers. I was very disappointed at the very cheap quality of the drawers. When you pull them out far enough to have a glimse of the items in the back compartments, the drawer just falls out. If you ever want to see items stored towards the back of the drawers you will have to pull the drawer out entirely. Very cheap workmanship. Not worth it. If you are a prospective buyer, I'd go for one of the more expensive and durable models.

The armoire is solid and very pretty. It definitely is not white but cream colored. I say to the previous reviewer that said it was cheap, it's $125! Not exactly high end furniture prices. The drawers will pull right out, there are no stops on them. I really like the piece and am very happy with it. I gave it 4 stars only because you have to attach the top and it takes two people to get it right. If not careful you can attach it crooked and it won't shut right. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Firstly prepare the surface, give the doors a light sand to remove varnish [yours are not varnished but the wood needs to be porus so may need a sand] go along the wood grain,remove the doors of course.

Brass Black
What can I do to change the buttons on the cabinet antique brass to look like the newest styles of rodiron black / brown. modernize the 17 year old oak cabinets with some new bling. I add the Asian black wood throughout my kitchen / dining room and want to change these to go with my black granite and Corian countertops need. I made a decorative finish with brass buttons in my kitchen and I like the look of it. I found it at Menards and thinks that the mark was a Rust-Oleum.
