Works well
This is a sturdy, all metal device. Mine came slightly misassembled out of the box. It was pulling hair more than cutting it. Looking at it for a few seconds I could see that the sliding part of the blade was misaligned with the clamp/handle. It took about 30 seconds to fix this. The clippers are held together by a wingnut, and really easy to dissassemble/reassemble. As another reviewer noted, the included attachment does not fit on these clippers. A web search for the same item showed an attachment with clips on either side that would, in theory, make it work. The useless attachment is the only reason I deducted a star.Once assembled correctly, it cut both my arm hair(fine) and beard(coarse) with ease.
A real loser
Don't buy this clipper. To begin with, the clip-on attachment (to cut hair at a different height)doesn't fit on the clipper, and falls off. Secondly, the clipper itself does not cut hair well and is awkward to use.

Well, looks like a winner.The Best Shave
I remember the day I purchased the new 5 blade razor from Gillette. I was excited and hopeful that FINALLY I wouldn't have to deal with razor burn, bumps, etc anymore. Alas, 5 blades aren't better than 4, just as 4 blades weren't better than 3, so on and so forth. As it turns out you just need one simple little blade to do the trick.After reading the article 'How to Shave Like Your Grandpa' (http://artofmanliness.com/2008/01/04/how-to-shave-like-your-grandpa/) I decided to switch to a high quality shaving cream, badger brush, and aftershave lotion. I also purchased the Merkur razor and extra blades. The difference cannot be put into words. The best I can do is 'simply amazing'. I never, never get any kind of irritated skin post-shave. I cannot feel one bit of stubble afterwards, even if I run my hand against the grain. The quality of the shave is unsurpassed (at least for at-home shaves. This is one awesome razor!
I've used disposable razors on my legs forever and never once felt satisified with my shaving experience. The last straw happened recently when Amazon sent me a few free schick quattro's. I gave them a try thinking hmmm, four blades must equal one good close shave but unfortunately for me four cheap blades equal lots of razor burn and hair clogging up the razor rendering them quickly useless because its nearly impossible picking the tiny hairs out from between all four blades. I ordered this Merkur long handled razor after researching the reviews and I'm so happy that I did! This razor has a beautiful chrome finish with a nice heavy feel to it. Its real quality and built for a lifetime of service. Its such an easy design and gives such a close shave that it makes me wonder how disposable razors were ever invented in the first place. A Little DisappointingMy daughter is getting married next spring and I was hoping to find some unique ideas and get some inspiration. But, in my daughter's case, there was virtually nothing a older 20's something would like. The styles were very traditional and not particularly distinctive.Most of the general information on sewing techniques (both hand and machine) were pretty basic. I'd say if you were an intermediate sewer you probably already know much of this info. But, if you less experienced with "dressy" fabrics (satins, lace, etc.), this book would be very informational or a good refresher of techniques you might have forgotten. Good illustrations with pictures and descriptions.You could also use these ideas for a "renewal of vows" ceremony or a special anniversary.Best of success with your Bridal sewing!
A nice wedding-idea book w/Great possibilities!
I just received this book, and upon looking it over, I'm SO excited to get started making beautiful wedding accessories. The projects look very easy and classy, while also appearing to be cost effective (to make rather than buy already made) and creative.Perhaps you won't use every craft just as it's pictured, but you'll probably either create something VERY close to it or you'll come up with something perfect for your special day by the crafts offered.If you want to add YOUR special touch to your wedding, then I recommend this book to help you achieve that goal!

If you haven't bought this book, then you better get it soonAs part of the 5 series volume, this series contains some updates. From my previous reviews of the collection series, I've mentioned that if you are beginner, a keen buyer/seller, or an experienced collector/trader of Nippon items, then you need to have this book, along with the other series. Like the previous series, this book contains information on Nippon porcelains. It provides actual photos, and price ranges for each items featured. Nippon porcelains have their disctinctive mark, based on the year and place they were manufactured, so this book gives you what to look and watch out for, in order to identify the authencity of the item.
Get this book if you're a Nippon trader/buyer

Weekend Recap
It seems like our usual MO is to sit around and watch movie after TV show on Netflix and spending the rest of the time just sort of sitting in the house. This weekend was actually a nice change from most of our weekends. I find myself running errands in an effort just to get out of the house (sounds like the rest of my week). I'm sure once the little one arrives we'll pine for the days when we just sat around and stared at the walls, but we're not there just yet. Saturday Chris had to go in to work for a little bit in the morning, so I ran my errands while he was doing that. As a result, we have a lot of really lazy weekends. This can be mostly blamed on the fact that Chris and I have really different tastes in activities....

The way I see it, the title should sum up what the blog is about, and make it sound interesting enough to make you want to read it. However, my posts are all too often all-inclusive, just bringing everyone up to date on what I’m doing and what’s... ) This was the first knife that I’ve tried fixing up, so I had Dave show me what to do, and I now have a new-found appreciation for knife makers. I think I mentioned this before, but I’m buying old rusty tools and fixing them up. (I also write on a leather forum, so I have a hard time remembering what I write where.
