Thumbs down on this
I bought this from Amazon on August 9, 2007. It worked fine at first. I emptied it about once a week and it was almost full.Great for my closet. However this last week, I emptied it as usual, and when I plugged it back in and tried to turn it on, nothing happened.I have called Amcor and they promised to get back to me in 24 hours. That was almost a week ago.If they do get back to me I will post again about what they said/did.I guess I will have to just get one of those big, real dehumidifiers from the hardware store. Too bad, this is just the right size for what I need.but we are coming into the rainy season here and humidity is 87%Oct. 15, 2007. No word from AMCOR in reply to my phone call. I emailed them today and received a reply. I have to give them my credit card information so they can charge me for shipping! I have to pay to ship my non-working unit and also for them to ship me a replacement...
Piece of C**p.
I purchased this late in February 2008 specifically for the small space that they say it is made for. Mine happens to be in a storage closet where I keep some equipment and artwork that I want to remain dry (obviously). It was installed end of February or early March and started making noise last week- by Friday it stopped completely. No motor, no lights, nothing. Trying to get anyone in customer service has proven to be a nightmare, and finally when I did, she took my information and said someone would get back to me within 3 days. 3 days has passed and now I cannot seem to get anyone again to even pick up!!! I'll see if Amazon will credit me and deal with their own vendor!!! This shouldn't be sold at all.
last only 6 months or less
I have purchased 4 of them. They work great, while they last. Never works for 12 months. Per the manafacture box states to contact them directly, but them dont call back. Too bad.

WONDERFUL Amcor PCMA14000
I purchased this Amcor 14000 BTU PCMA14000 earlier this summer and have relied on it all summer to keep my family cool and comfortable. IT is so easy to use as we can program the unit to cool to a certain temperature or time. We have used it upstairs in our home to cool an area that is about 600 Square feet. The manufacturer says this will cool up to 400 square feet, but this unit cools this area wonderfully. We purchased this to run instead of our central air which is old and less efficient. This is MUCH CHEAPER to run. I would recommend this Amcor PCMA14000 to anyone !!
out of buisness broken with in a week no parts
This company is now out of buisness. After recieving and using my PCMA 14000e I can see why. It arrived with a broken caster wheel..ok a shipping problem and parts from menards for less than $2.00 good to go..Installed the unit and it worked fine for about 5 days then I started it up and noticed a loud grinding noise... took off the exhaust hose and it stopped but as I moved my hand closer to the exhaust port the noise started again and the closer I got the worse the noise. A look in the exhaust port told the story. The blower wheel was moving back and forward with the back pressure changes. It soon stopped spinning altogather. after trying to call amcor about warrenty I kept getting a we are closed message and no hours of operation. It was then that I found out that they are out of buisness...Taking matters into my own hands (And they are competant hands as a aircraft/motorcycle/mechanic and a machinest) I found that the plastic blower wheel center hub had disintigrated. I...
Decent Unit HORRIBLE Customer Service
The unit is okay, however our arrived with broken parts. Tried to contact customer service and was told that the broken parts were not actually needed. When we discovered that the parts were in fact needed and tried to call back, the message always says they are closed.

Cooling Comes Up Short
I purchased a NanoMaxA12000EH several years ago to cool a large bedroom of around 300 sqft. The equipment is advertised for up to 400 sqft. Presumably more than adquate for this application. Window units are sized at about 20 btu per sqft or in this case 6,000 btu. To be immediately noted is that it takes a lot more btu per square foot for this and other portable air conditioners to achieve the same outcome as a window unit half the size in btu.So how did it work? Not well at all. On a hot day starting with the room in the mid 80 degree range with say 60 percent humidity it cannot cool the room down. It may drop the temperature 1 degree per hour. If we cool the room with a fan it can drop the temperature from say 78 degrees to 74 degrees in 2-3 hours. It of course provides comforting cool air if you focus on you.A call to AMCOR support revealed that the technician thought I was definitely at or above the limit of its capacity at 300 sqft.In...
Satisfied
Purchased my Amcor ALTL 12,000EH about three years ago. Wanted one to cool and heat my windowless two car attached garage. I decided to set it up on a work bench and vent to the attic area rather that cutting a hole in a wall or door.Living in coastal Georgia it does get the temperature to comfortable level in both summer and winter.
DO NOT BUY
This is the most terrible piece of electronic/small appliance/ home equipment I have ever had to deal with. The unit is ridiculously heavy, and therefore difficult to move and very frustrating and difficult to position near windows of various heights from the floor. It heats the room as much as it cools, rendering it as "useful" as a fan sucking in air in a window on a hot and humid day. It does this because the pipe that "vents" to the outside radiates heat through itself. The hot part of the A/C unit is still in the room with you, not hanging out the window, and therefore renders the cooling ineffective.Go to insulate this trash thin plastic pipe, and its fitting cuff teeth that fasten it to the back of the unit snap off. It is poorly built, over-priced, and a frustrating waste of money and time. The graphical display on the unit takes a thorough re-read of the manual to interpret all its obnoxious symbols for operation. I cannot wait to bring this back...

Works but breaks easily
Pros: Unit works well to cool down the air and the noise is tolerable.Update - I was impressed with customer service: minimal wait on the phone, courteous service and prompt replacement of the broken parts (read "Cons" below).Cons: unit is made entirely of plastic so it breaks easily. To illustrate this point: while assembling, a plastic clip that holds the hoses to the window vent unit broke off. After 4 uses, my wife noticed that a clip that held one of the hoses to the unit itself had also broken off. Bottom line: it is flimsy.A second drawback is that the window vent section does not adjust to the size of the window. (A piece that we thought would be used to adjust to window size is actually a piece used for a patio door.)A third drawback is that the hoses and window vent section are rather unwieldy to handle. Frequently, while trying to place the vents on the window while coupled to the hoses, the hoses come off easily off the...
not as good as i had hoped
this ac works ok its just the window attachment is crap. it is imposible to get it to stay in the window with the weight ofthe hoses and it just falls out of the window. they should of designed it better
nice unit
I have had this unit for 4 years now. It does a nice job of cooling off our huge bedroom, 16 by 30. I will agree with everyone about the hoses. But with any portable unit, the hoses are cumbersome. I have had problems with the hoses fall out of the window support but a few screws take care of that. Since this is my 4th year of using this unit, it really deserves 5 stars but I gave it 4 because they really need to design a better window support. I am happy with this unit.

Review the right item!
Its two years since I purchased this and happened upon this link today. I remember doing a great amount of research when I bought this unit. It is NOT like the one being reviewed with 2 stars. One key point - it has two hoses - input and output (not one like many units out there). It's very good at evaporating the water it takes out of the room (the two hoses are supposedly responsible for this efficiency). I have yet to empty the tank. The unit comes with a window package that holds the tubes in place (its made of heavy duty plastic). As to moving it around, no big problems - it is a beast to move on the stairs, but ..... its an air conditioner, not a fan.I normally use it to cool down a 20x20 room (9 foot ceilings). It does take longer than I'd like, but if it's a humid night, it gets the room in a "sleepable" condition in about 1 hour. The reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the remote control gives you options that you can't...
Great A/C
I bought this AC after reading the 2 star review and I am very glad I did. I live in the college dorms and this AC does an excellent job cooling my room and I have not experienced any of the concerns posted by the other reviewer. I've got a few other friends with Portable A/C units and none work as well as this one.The wheels roll fine on the dorm room carpet, I've had this A/C for over a month and have yet to empty the water tank, and this A/C gets my room as cold as I could ever want it, and could get it even colder if I so desired.I got this unit on sale for ~$230 and this has been a great investment.
Leaks Water
My unit had great cooling abilities. It was able to easily cool my living and dining rooms, but it leaked water all over the floor. Initially, the leakage started about hour into operating and it really leaked after I turned it off. It seemed to release all water the tank may have held. It just drained onto my floor. This unit is supposed to have a built in reservoir tank for holding water. The compressor is supposed to shut down when tank is full and a indicator light is supposed to come on to alert that tank needs drainage. I never had a problem with water leaking from the drain plug. The leakage had nothing to do with the water removal hose. It was leaking underneath. It may have been damaged in transport or it may just be a faulty unit. I really don't know. The reservoir tank is built into the unit and cannot be seen. I had no desire to pull out a screw driver and take it apart. It is possible it was cracked, but it's also possible it's poorly made...

Dehimidifier, Heater or Aircon?

Dec 18, 2010 by Cooky | Posted in Other - Home & Garden

My room is always cold and I blame this on the two exterior walls. There is a mild mold problem which requires a dehumidifier. I've only just moved in to this room and I'm considering a AirConditioning, Heating, Dehumidifier unit. I.e. Amcor APC2000EH.

your room sounds as if its suffering from condensation problem.
air circulation for this problem is vital.
your best option is an air con unit with heat option,
that you can use to cool in the summer and heat in the winter

Amcor first to commercialize compression blow forming

Amcor is manufacturing high density polyethylene bottles using a CBF machine developed by Sacmi Imola S. C. CBF machines combine elements of compression molding and blow molding in a continuous rotary process. NEW YORK (May 1, 5 p. m. According to Amcor, the machines are a &ldquo. CBF uses an integrated in-line sequence that does not require station-to-station transfer. Then, the mold cavity closes and the bottle is blown.

3 Good Reasons To Buy A Portable Air Conditioner

Source: ahomeinfo.net

For example, when I wanted to take advantage of the real experiences of the owners of a portable air conditioner, all he had to do was Google “portable air conditioner forums” and voila. For those of you who make your decisions based on real information, here are some cool facts portable air conditioner. Portable Air Conditioner Energy.
