Terrible, returned immediately
This dehumidifier works, but is so incredibly loud it isn't usable. We purchased two dehumidifiers at the same time: this one, and the . It's absolutely amazing how different they are. We let both run all day while we were at work, and they both did a great job at collecting water. However, the Frigidaire is so loud we can't use it *at all* when we're home. No exaggeration. I turned it on in our bedroom, closed the door, then walked clear across the house to our dining room and could still hear it loud and clear. If I'm standing next to it while it's on, I can't hear a word my wife is saying. I have no idea how anyone can live with this in their home. We're returning it asap and getting a second Soleus. Why did I not get it sooner!
I love this dehumidifier! Both my wife and I moved to a new apartment in Pacifica, CA literally across the street from the beach. We normally leave our windows open so it vents a bit of fresh air but the problem is that humidity enters as well with the sea breeze. It got really damp in our apartment and so bad that I felt it every time I got in the blankets. I shopped around and found this dehumidifier online and thought it would be very helpful. When it came, no joke, it was like christmas. I tore it open with a twinkle in my eye and laughed with joy when I pulled it out. I read the instruction manual to make sure I didn't ruin anything and it was a simple 3-6 step process. I set it up in no time and plugged it in to the wall to see what this bad boy can do. Within 12 hours, this 25 Pint dehumidifier was full. It kept getting full for the next 4 days and now it is nice and dry in our 1 bedroom apartment. I really love it! I gave it a five star because of its awesomeness...

Small dehumidifier
I searched reviews online for several days before buying this dehumidifier. I live in an extremely high humidity area, especially in the winter time. (lots of rain) and I am allergic to mold, So really needed a humidifier that can continue to run in colder temps. I am not disappointed. I call this a "moisture sucking dynamo". Like other reviewers, I have to mention that it isnt quiet. While it doesn't vibrate, it does blow air out of the top that is very similar to a box fan on high. So, that may deter some people, but not me, I like the 'white noise'. This is very effective at removing humidity. The drain bucket is easy to remove and replace, and has a convenient handle to carry it to the sink for dumping. It has 4 wheels for easy mobility, but the unit is not heavy at all, so picking it up to carry to another room is pretty easy. I spent a lot of time researching the available options to dehumidify my new apartment, which apparently has excellent thermal insulation (it's 90 degs outside but stays at 78-80 inside without a/c) but major humidity problems, partly as a result of the a/c never kicking on. Forcing the a/c to run wasn't worth catching cold and/or freezing to death, so my first low-budget solution was DampRid. It helped, especially in the closets (i.e. small enclosed areas), but it wasn't enough to take the moisture out of the air in the bedroom and living areas. So after looking at dozens of reviews for the Bionaire BDQ24-UC and the Soleus CFM-25E, I decided to go with this model, the EDV-2200. Rationale against conventional dehumidifier: didn't want to spend $150-200 for a heavy mechanically complicated object that may get damaged in transit, with no recourse except to bicker with Bionaire/Soleus/Amazon service reps, that may or may not arrive as a lemon (per some of the reviews),...

does what it claims it will - a very unscientific review follows:
I purchased this product about a month ago, and since then have been running it a good bit. It takes moisture out of the air to the tune of about half the reservoir per day, which is pretty interesting since I didn't know there was so much water to remove. That being said, I again don't know whether that is good or bad, or if the moisture isn't just as quickly replaced by outside factors. I use this dehumidifier in my bedroom, as I live in a very muggy/humid climate, and as far as I can tell it does in fact make a reasonable difference in the overall feel of the air in my room. The dimensions of my bedroom plus bathroom suite are approx 20x12x15' and 8x6x15' (high ceilings) joined. The area has three full length windows plus a door leading to the rest of the apartment, so it's never sealed like a painted-shut-window or weather-sealed setup would be. It rained pretty hard the last couple of days, and normally in a room like this you'd feel a little on the drenched side while...

Works fine
I have been using this dehumidifier for several weeks. It does what it is supposed to, and is somewhat quieter than the one it replaced, which I appreciate. I also like how the air filter is designed so it is simply pulled out of the side of the unit for cleaning.

SPT SD-30E not for continuous use
This dehumidifier seems to work well if you can empty the reservoir regularly. Since we are out of our house for months at a time, I need to attach a hose so the water will run out. Our first dehumidifier lasted only three years (a Zenith ZD30)so we needed a new one. When I wanted to set a hose up for continuous water flow, the hose provided was too short and too narrow. I couldn't attach it to the exit nozzle. I went to Home Depot (I bought it through Home Depot online) and asked if they had any ideas for me. After some thought, we decided to take a thicker hose. I ended up using the thicker hose from HD and a hose clamp to attach it to the nozzle. Since the presence of the hose clamp does not allow the water reservoir to be inserted correctly, I needed to tape the lever (the lever the tells the machine that the reservoir is inserted correctly) with cardboard and duct tape. I did use the tiny piece of hose pipe that was provided when I inserted it...

Works Fine But Some Improvements Needed
I wanted to buy a dehumidifier for my bed room as it gets humid when it rains outside, feeling damp cold. This seems to be the smallest and thinning one on the market. After running it for all day, the tank became a half full of clear water. So, it is working fine. It has an automatic internal switch between running fan and dehumidifier probably depending on moist in the air. When a fan turned to a dehumidifier, it makes noise loud enough to wake me up. So, I cannot run this while sleeping unfortunately. Also, the device heats up quickly and air becomes warm. So, it works better in the winter. It consumes 190 watt while dehumidifying, but I am certain it is less when only a fan is working.

Running Non-stop For Almost 4 Months - Works Great!
We placed this in a 320' circular dome in our yard. It has tile flooring installed directly on concrete. After the tremendous rains this season, our whole yard became saturated and we started noticing condensation on the flooring and walls in that room. We started running this unit in early January, 24/7 (well, nearly), and it's still running today. We do turn it off for a few hours while we are out there, due to the noise. It's not bad, but I find it's too loud for prolonged exposure. I'm hoping eventually we'll be able to turn it off for longer periods, but for now, it's working wonders in there. Several times the auto-stop has kicked on because it was full and needed to be emptied so I'm glad that feature works as advertised. It's very easy to dump the water and reinsert the collection bucket. It's amazing how much moisture this has collected ... guessing up to 5 gallons/mo. Our electricity usage and bill has gone up, but it's hard to tell just what it is...
