Replaces Kenmore ADQ36006102 filterJust FYI with the review title... This is an exact replacement for the Kenmore version. Heck even the same photo of the straw sipping lady on the front. My french door Kenmore "Elite" was actually made by (gasp) the same plant that makes LG refrigerators so no big shock. The Kenmore brand filter is 50% more at Sears for some reason... The replacement reminder on the fridge is set for a specific volume +/- and not the actual filter condition or flow, so if you have a decent water supply it can easily go through 2+ cycles without a drop in water quality (in my opinion). Works fine, and as clean and lightly chlorinated my city was is, I may not bother to replace again.
As promised
The replacement filter for our LG French Door refrigerator arrived quickly, was the correct one, and was received in perfect condition. The price was well below what I could have purchased it for locally, even with the shipping cost added on.I was apprehensive to replace the old filter, as it was the first time that it needed to be replaced. Installation instructions were included with the filter, and I had no problem removing the old one and replacing it with the new one.I plan on continuing to purchase our replacement filters through Amazon.
Filter Substitute?
After reading and doing some research, I thought the ADQ36006101 / LT700P is a replacement for the ADQ36006102. It is NOT! I thought I would save about $15 to install it in my Kenmore refrigerator. Well after comparing the two, they looked like a good replacement. I installed it and threw the old filter in the garbage. The next day the filter leaked some water. Hence, I went out and bought the ADQ36006102 filter. I compared again and noticed the tip of the ADQ36006102 is slightly longer than the ADQ36006101. I installed the ADQ36006102 and not water leak problems.

Definite flow problemAll three replacement filters from FiltersFast exhibit issues. Poor water flow and squeal from inside the fridge. Replaced new filter with old one and all is fine. New filters are different on the insert - old ones had one large hole with multiple tiny holes around it. New ones have one large hole and two slotted holes on each side. All three new ones are lousy. Takes 45-60 seconds to fill a standard 8oz glass. Not acceptable. Called GE directly who said no change has been made to product line. Bought two more in town, one from Sears, another from HH Gregg. Both have the same design as the new ones from FiltersFast and are also lousy.I have resorted to using the filter plug in order to have decent water flow. The filter design has obviously changed and either GE is not admitting to it or their representatives are ignorant to the change.I hate my fridge now and currently using a Brita pitcher filter on the counter top. Water tastes...different
Water tastes salty post installation. Water did not taste like that with previous factory installed filter. My tap water does not taste salty unfiltered. Probably would not buy again. Would purchase filter next time from an authorized GE dealer.**UPDATE - Seller contacted me after this review and offered to send me a replacement filter, free of charge and free shipping. It arrived VERY quickly (within 3 days of the email). New filter works great, so the 1st filter problem must have just been a fluke. I would order from this seller again. Good product and great customer service.
GE MSWF Refrigerator Water Filter
I live in the Tucson, AZ area and our water is very hard. I test my water regularly out of the tap and it shows 240. I test the water out of my R/O system and it tests at 22. The water coming out of my ref with the GE filter which comes from the R/0 system is 20. I have the cleanest water in our neighborhood. The only issue I had was the GE filter took a couple of months to get back to "normal" testing range. When I fist installed it, the water tested at 40. Now that it's back to "normal" I'm pleased. Also the install was easy - reading the simple directions took longer that the install. You just twist off the old one and twist on the new one and then run about 5 gallons through the system.

New design is faulty and leaks constantlyFirst, I saw that one reviewer has a problem with leaking filters when used in an older Frigidaire. I've had no such problem with the original filter and two replacements that I've installed. (And yuck! to see what those filters have removed from the city water!) So, maybe higher than normal water pressure is the problem and could possibly be regulated. Just a thought.My Rating:The filters are 5-star performers but even at Amazon's lower price, I still consider them "pricey", so I dropped a star.My Tip:I kept my last filter in until performance (delivered water flow rate) had diminished considerably. It was sort of an experiment in economy. I was surprised when my ice maker started to jam with the under-sized "cubes" (they are actually shaped like half of a large thick coin) resulting from the slower water flow through the old filter. Product ordered, arrived in time as told and was purchased at a great value. Considering our current times and tight budgets, searching to compare prices is the norm. Install #failMy wife bought the GXRTDR in-line water filter because the GXRTQR filter was no longer available and the box said it would work as a replacement. As far as I can tell, it will only work if your old tubing is 1/4 in. Mine is 1/2 in. There were adapter fittings for the GXRTQR so I never had any problem with replacing it. I tried to do an install, thinking that the stub of a tube inside the fitting would marry, but it was too short, so I had to put the old filter back on. I have to either replace the tubes on fridge & at the faucet, or find another filter.

I bought the GXRTDR in-line water filter as a replacement to the GXRTQR filter. What a huge mistake! The old filter had a very secure connection. The new GXRTDR has a "quick-connect" style connector. (Ideally, you cut the tube and just stick it in the connector, and it automatically locks in-place. The connector is a little like a "Chinese Finger Trap" where you stick your fingers in a woven bamboo cylinder and your fingers won't come out until you compress the weave.) Anyway, I've used quick-connectors at my work for many years and never had a problem, but I had never used this brand. I pulled the fridge out of its niche and followed the directions. I cut out my old filter hardware and installed the new filter. I let the water run to clear the initial carbon particles, and then I checked for leakage and the connectors seemed to be sealed. I put the refrigerator back in the niche and sometime that night, it sprung a leak at the internal o-ring seal. My kitchen is on the...
Difficult to install. but works well
Like the above poster I got this filter to replace my previous GXRTQR inline filter.My only complaint is that the outlet port for the water tubing was a pain in the neck to get to go up flush against the area it is supposed to. which resulted in water spurting everywhere. however once I got that in it worked fine.no leaks or antything of the sort

The defrost system is not working .Remove the food from the lower half of the freezer,if the rear panel is full of ice this confirms it . Call a repair person

Refrigerator Problem?
I have a side by side refrigerator and it runs constantly. The food is still frozen in the freezer side but it's not quite as cold as it used to be on the fridge side. Any suggestions or experiences with a similar problem would be helpful.
this is probably a problem with the defroster or the fan on the evaporater(inside coil)when the evaporater does not defrost it causes ice build up on it,this does not allow air to flow through it.The result of this is that the freezer will stay cold for
