Super Easy To InstallFew days back I ordered this product; and it was delivered in 3-4days. The installation was super easy with the given instructions. Planning to order the same in few months again!!The only reason I am not giving 5/5 is due to missing instructions for turning off "Change Filter" light; I found these instructions on some blog. For MayTag refrigerator, the light can be turned off by holding "Light"+"Lock" pads on the door until the "Change Filter" light blinks (approx 4-5 seconds).
Fridge Filter
My original filter was a UKF7002 and locked with a click when in place. This is the replacement UKF7003 and while it does fit and seems to have no leaks it does not lock in place when inserted.
second time again defective units
Maybe it is just my bad luck. This is the second time that the filter went dead/clogged after a little more than one month's use. It is supposed to be last for 6 months!

Not impressed.I recently purchased the Puriclean IV at Home Depot.I tested this water filter using a TDS meter which measures total dissolved solids in water.Results:Tap Water = 367 PPM (parts per million)Puriclean IV = 370 PPMAs you can see, the Puriclean IV produced no difference in water quality based on my TDS meter.This is a very simple filter that uses charcoal to reduce odor. Charcoal does not filter out harmful solids, they just pass right through the filter.
watch out -- this seller sends spam
I purchased this water filter for my refrigerator and the product works as advertized and was delivered on time. No complaints on the item itself.However Amazon fulfills the order via a 3rd party seller and in this case the seller uses my email address to send spam and advertizements. Very annoying. I would understand if my Amazon preferences permitted email marketing, but I had all those options turned off. If Amazon insists on allowing 3rd parties to see email addresses they should enforce a policy which prohibits the 3rd party vendor from using the information for any other purposes other than delivering the exact product which was ordered.

NO NEED TO CHANGE FILTER YEARLY FOR MOST USERSThis filter is rated at 750 gallons capacity. If the consumer uses one gallon of water per day in the form of water from the refrigerator dispenser and ice from the ice dispenser, the filter will last 750 days; i.e., just over TWO years. In general, there is no reason to replace the filter yearly, unless you have a really yuccky water source.In a small household of two adults, the filter should last considerably longer than two years. Furthermore, with the addition of a filtered water dispenser at the sink (such as a GE undercounter unit), the refrigerator filter would be functional for a few years. The undercounter units have a quite large capacity and some use two filter cartridges.
Easy install, great performance.
This filter was a snap to install, and once I did my water pressure from the dispenser was back to normal. If you'vegot a refrigerator that uses one of these filters and the water's been coming out slow then it's probably time for a new filter. One word of advice: use a big water pitcher for the first use of the dispenser after the filter change - the pressure has to readjust and it will spit out a few huge blasts of water that will overwhelm your normal water glass. After the couple of big blasts though, you get constant good pressure, better than you remembered was even possible after the gradual slow down with your old filter.

Why does my Maytag refrigerator(side doors) in the freezer part always get water on the bottom then freezes?
On the bottom of my freezer part it gets filled with water then the water gets frozen. Its past warranty so i cant have it repaired. Anyone know the problem or if it can be fixed?
The defrost drain plug is clogged preventing the water from exiting to the evaporator tray. Try using a pipe cleaner to remove the clog.

Cream of butternut squash soup
This is part of my ongoing refrigerator saga: over the summer, my old Maytag fridge (18 years old) died, so I had to buy a new one. Two of their soup recipes are old standards, the fresh vegetable soup and the slow cooker vegetable soup. I found an easy recipe from another WW'er for cream of zucchini soup that I adapted for butternut squash, since I had a squash in the refrigerator that was about half frozen. So I ended up buying a Frigidaire, which was the best one I could find that would fit, but it's not nearly as nice as the old Maytag. I was limited on height since the kitchen is small (it's a 70 year old house) and the refrigerator has to fit into a niche....
