Love it!I really love this frig. I thought I'd hate the deli tray - almost all the frigs seem to have them - but it works out really well to hold containters of things (goat cheese, yogurt, etc) which I can see and pull out at a glance vs getting lost in the back on a rack.The counter depth is great, but what distinguishes the Kitchenaid for me is the interior water dispenser. I don't like in-the-door water/ice dispensers because I think they're unattractive, and they take up so much room inside. Mostly I want water - ice I can get from below easily - and this saves so much room not needing to use my big brita. Am sold on counter depth now because I can see everything so much more easily - the frig is wider and not as deep and that's perfect.The only reason I'm not giving it 5 (or 10) stars is because the stainless is high maintenance. Nothing seemed to clean it well so I researched it to death (and went through a number of stainless steel cleaners) and followed...

I rarely expect products to be excellent anymore. My new criteria for excellence is when something is "OK". That is what this fridge is ...OK. Have had it for two years and is working fine. ergonomically however it is kinda dumb. THe water filter and controls are above the top shelf, and unfortunately cut into it quite a bit. If I place a gallon of milk on the top shelf it doesn't fit easily. If you move the shelf down then the lower shelves are too confined. I have manipulated the controls once since I purchased this, one you set the temp, why play with it? For this reason, I would have placed the control panel in the back..out of the way, and the filter as well. In an effort to be more convenient they have made it less so, but today that is par. It's OK.Oh yeah...the bottom grill rattles
Piece of junk
KitchenAid refrigerators are usually 50% more expensive than, say Kenmore. You would expect higher quality. But unfortunately I got the exact opposite. Mine broken down in less than 3 years. Two repair attempts cost over $500. Got a new compressor. My mom has a very old Hitachi ref, 10 years old still runs like new. I would never buy any KitchenAid products from now on.

Very accesible, Very Sleek, Very RoomyThe things I really like about this refrigerator which we have had for about three years are:I really like the freezer on the bottom. I'm in the fridge more than the freezer and don't have to bend down to access the fridge. The freezer has a large (huge) basket with a smaller divided pull-out one on the top. The ice cube maker works fantastically.I really like having the water dispenser on the inside wall of the fridge. The refrigerator maintains its sleek look but I still have access to filtered water.I really like there is a shelf that pulls out making it easy to reach things stuffed towards the back.I like that I can adjust the other shelves height.I like the larger drawer below the two crisper drawers. We keep cheeses and lunch meats in it. Again, very accessible.I like the big roomy size of the door shelves. They accommodate a full gallon jug of milk.I like the stainless steel look but it...

Fit Fridge As Advertised
I'm always a little afraid to order substitute brands, but the price and the picture of the Pur Filter product gave me a little more confidence to give it a try. It took a little long to get delivered than I expected, but once here it fit my Kitchenaid Side-By-Side Refrigerator perfectly and was easy to install. Would recommend this replacement product to others.

Try vacuuming the dirt off the coils on the compressor first it might help.

I have a side by side stainless steel kitchen aid refrigerator where does the water goes when it defrost.
Where does the water goes when you defrost your fridge. I notice it goes through the panel in the freezer in the back but do you have to take the water out and where do you do that.
How much water can it handle in the panel? Does it overflow?
Usually, there's a drip pan down by the compressor. The heat from the compressor then evaporates the water in the pan.

If you own a Sears refridgerator it IS a Whirlpool, or Kitchen Aid, or whatever else with a "Kenmore" name plate on it. Sears doesn't make their appliances and they purchase appliance from varios companys and put their "Kenmore" brand on it. I... I have been using PUR filters bought on-line for 5 years now and it is the same filter that came in the refridgerator when I bought it. The only thing to keep in mind is that the "universal PUR Filter", that fits all push button, in the grill... Secondly, Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid, Kenmore, etc. sell the filter with their markings on it. PUR make the filter. This is not a cheaper replacement for the filter, it is the same filter. A Sears sales rep will tell you who makes the specific unit. do not make the filters....
