Honeywell Thermostats Recalled Because They Can Overheat and Melt
“The electric baseboard heater thermostats have a non-flammable plastic housing, so while the plastic can melt and generate smoke, it should not ignite other materials in the home,” the Honeywell website said. Between January 2000 and December 2007,

Many features to offer peace of mind
We needed a supplemental electric space heater for an unheated bedroom in our home that is occasionally used by guests. I selected this model over the Honeywell HZ515 because it has a screen to display the temperature instead of just a selector dial. We own one other electric heater that has a thermostat without a display, and it is much harder on that Delonghi unit for someone to set the temperature without consulting the manual. This heater is quite straightforward to operate in comparison. If you simply push the power button, the unit will come on at full power and keep heating at full power until you turn it off again. If you push the power button and then use the up- and down-arrow buttons, you can select a temperature (in Fahrenheit or Celsius) that the unit will attempt to maintain (up to its 1500 W capacity) until you turn it off.If you push power, then use the arrows to select a temperature, and then push the timer button (and use the arrows...
Great heater
This heater really heats up a room in a hurry. To provide some context, my kitchen is in the vicinity of 120 square feet, and it only takes 5 minutes or so to heat up after turning this heater on. As advertised, it is indeed silent. And even when first turning it on, it didn't emit that nasty new-heater smell. This heater is a great value and I'm glad I bought it.
unreliable
I own five of these, and heat my home with them (and five upright oil-filled types).Pros: usually safe to touch, non-electronic glowing badge-type overheat indicator, timer, quiet, five-year warrantee, great flexible 16-gage 3-wire cord (stays cool), appears to be of highest quality, inexpensive.Cons: Although there is a bright bulb indicating the unit is on, the LCD panel is unlit by it, so you can't check the indicator easily when it is dark. This is important, because the heaters sometimes reset themselves to maximum, so you need to look at the panel repeatedly during the night. The timer only works for shut-off, not for timed turn-on, so you can't use it for programmed heating, such as warming up for the morning, or warming up for return in the afternoon.Timer and temp settings are lost when powered off (no back-up battery or constant power to the panel from the plug).Temp settings unpredictably reset to maximum, so you...

great heater
I do not have central heat and air in my home so I bought these heaters for my kids rooms. They are fantastic! They dont get hot, so if the kids touch them they dont burn themselves. They are easy to operate, though I unplug everytime I leave the house to go to work as the light does not go off when you turn the heater to the off position. The bedrooms are about 140sf and it takes about 30 min to warm up in the room when we get home everyday. I have had the heaters plugged in for 3 or 4 days at a time and still the casing stays warm to the touch. Running these heaters everynight in November, December and January so far, it has cost about $65.00 a month for both heaters on the electric bill. I plan on buying 3 more for the rest of the house.
Excellent choice - made in USA
The heater I got is made in the USA. Hope they continue to make them here onshore, but gladly, mine doesn't have the toxic fumigants embedded in the paint (and other parts) that other heaters have from the shipping container fumigants they apply to the shipping container interiors when they ship from China (to prevent mold and mildew, and insects in the containers, which are sometimes enclosed for months.) Heat really activates these chemical toxins, embedded in the materials. Those toxic vapors take a while to gas-off of a new heater, and I have enough health problems and headaches without them.I gassed this unit off at 1500W outside for a few hours and used it at 1000 watts indoors without any problems, and I have severe multiple chemical sensitivity. The heating element in this portable heater is the same size as a 1000-Watt stationary baseboard. On the 1000-WATT setting (low) it gives a steady nice heat and doesn't get the chassis extremely hot on the...
Fahrenheat Electric 5120 BTU Baseboard Htr Model FBE 15002
I purchase a heater to use in by bedroom while I sleep. So I wanted a quiet one.The unit is fanless and so generally quiet. Unfortunately it does creak a bit when it heats up. The thermostat is very quiet. . . it's hard to hear it click. Otherwise the heater works well. Despite it's title of a baseboard heater, it can be placed elsewhere; but if it's not close to a wall, it could possibly be a tripping hazard due to its low height. It could use thicker sheet metal all around, which I think is probably the case for many such heaters.I purchased the heater from Amazon/Northern Tools. The first one was damaged in shipment. Northern Tools replaced it without complaint. The second one was also damaged. . . but not nearly as much as the first one. I decided to keep it. Both were damaged in a similar fashion. The manufacturer could do a better job protecting them in shipment.

A Waste of Time
This 'Cadet' stuff is a misrepresented farce. It should be in a building supply online store and not in home products. People are looking here in 'amazon' for a unit with a thermostat that they can plug into a wall socket and get heat not for a partially assembled non-functioning unit that will need a thermostat and special tools and skill to hopefully work. It doesn't plug into a wall socket, you need to connect 'supply wires' to it! just look at what is required to get a 'Cadet' baseboard heater to work at [...]. In the video it states that if you are not able to assemble this yourself, you should get a licensed electrician to do it. Oh yes, at $50/hr! the electrician would wind up costing more than the unit! I am used to buying something that states what you are getting, this unit description states what you are NOT getting with an ambiguous 'no' that could be mistaken for 'number'. This company apparently floods an online store with partially assembled non-functioning items that...

Hard to find
I had to replace two old 24 inch baseboard heaters in a beach house remodel. The space available wouldn't take anything larger, and the 24 inch heaters were impossible to find locally. Amazon was a great option. The cadet heaters work well, and look good. The dial is a little hard visualize where to set it, but once you figure it out, just put a couple alignment marks on it.Good functional product.
Great little heater
This is a great little heater. It's especially nice that you can connect the wiring from either the left or right side. I needed a 24 inch baseboard to replace my old one (which was pitted and rusty) and this was easy to install and works great. Plus, it was inexpensive. What more could you ask for?
Not 24"
When I purchased this item it was described as 24", however when I received it it was actually 27",not as advertised.

So far so good
Nice compact, quiet, and safe heater. Puts out plenty of heat controlled by a thermostat. Auto turn-off if tipped but very stable. Fan can be turned on as well, but doesn't really make much difference, so it can be left off for silent operation. Can't imagine any other heater this size could be a better choice. It's about 3 feet wide, 6 inches thick, and 10 inches high. I haven't gone thru a winter with it yet, but it's obvious the heat it puts out will do the job.
Beware -
Opened the box, plugged it into a kitchen outlet and waited, waited, waited for the thing to warm up my small kitchen. After two hours, I could touch the unit to warm my hands, but that was about it. Called KAS, only to be told I would be responsible for the shipping costs to return it to them, and it would take 4-6 weeks for them to send another. God Bless Amazon - they paid the full return postage for a full refund on the unit.
Pretty good product
My experience with this item was wonderful. It was silent and distributed a decent amount of heat. I used it to heat a room that was about 9 x 12. I kept the door closed and the room was toasty. The only down side is that it died in stages. But for the price I paid and for 4 years of use I would encourage others to get this item.

I have a wooden platform bed - so the wood and the bedding (sheets, blankets) are at the same height as the heater. How far from the baseboard do I need to move the bed?
