Multipurpose filter materialI found this to be good for replacing the carbon filters in my range hood. I can probably get about ten filters out of one sheet. I cut them oversized and fold them over the old filters, then slide them into place. The retainers hold the new material in place.
Excellent for Refrigerator Air Filter
I bought this to replace the carbon air filter in my refrigerator. The OEM filter is a piece of carbon paper in a little cardboard box with a cutout in one side. I simply opened the box, removed the paper, cut a piece of this to size, put in the box, and voila, new filter. This is much cheaper than buying the OEM filters and enough here to last me for years.

High quality as in that:1) it feels rigid and thick2) not dusty and no residue to come off that I could see3) quite dense from looking via lightI taped one to my HVAC filter (Filtrete rating 1900) and now my HVAC filters both particulate waste and gases like VOC, benzene, radon (yes!), etc.Better and way cheaper than Filtrate's new Odor Reduction line, which particulate filtration maxes out at only 1000.

Great Product (Filter & Unit)
These seem to be one of the better prices around. We have been unable to find these filters locally (big-box and local hardware stores).The 3rd party filters are cheaper, but do not fit as well or last as long. We have three cats (indoor) and a large dog,. People do not know we have animals until they see/hear them (don't live in a McMansion).I also have allergies / asthma and the unit has helped a ton. Barely use my inhaler at home.

I recommend this air cleaner
I have suffered from allergies all of my life, but especially the last few years, they have gotten progressively worse. Last year, I lived in an apartment over two chain smokers and was constantly congested. I started researching air purifiers because my medications weren't helping enough on their own. I ended up deciding on this unit for my living room/dining area, a Hamilton Beach 04163 for my bedroom, and another Hamilton Beach 04163 to go on the other side of my living room as well since the living room/dining area/kitchen was all together and not separated by doors and was too large an area for only one cleaner to handle efficiently. I have been very satisfied with this unit. I got it in December 2004 and it has not given me any problems. I have had to change the pre-filters a few times (you usually have to change them every three months or so) but have not yet had to change the HEPA filter. Great for cigarette smoke,pollen,pet hair,pollen you name it.
Let me start off by saying that I suffer from being allergic to cigarette smoke and my husband and I live in an enclosed apartment complex. This is made worse by the fact that the front door doesn't seal up against the frame and smoke from the hallway leaks into our apartment with other odors and smells. Now let me add that that my husband suffers from severe allergy's and takes medicine daily for his condition. Did I mention that we have two cats and a pug. great deodorizerpros: deodorizes room very quickly, makes pleasing sound and the water running down the glass is pleasing to look at, small, fits about anywhere.cons: you have to clean it and fill it daily, the top can vibrate against the bowl sometimes, causing unnecessary noise.this is a great little unit for deodorizing your home. i doubt it does much to clean the air, but that is ok, it does put humidity in the air, which is good at night.check with a rainbow salesperson, we got ours for free by letting them do a presentation.

I have this product and it works great. Easy to use, portable.Every once in a while, you have to clean the inside or it will get "stuck".Other than that works great!

I put this by the bed every night. It is a little loud, but it's a soothing sound I find. I have been waking up without being stuffed up, and I do sleep better. Worth the money!!

Great product, filter availability/price a problemWe've been running two of these units at home for six months now. The amount of garbage they pull out of the air is amazing. The unit is reasonably quiet on setting 2 and much too loud on 3. I'm not sure it is moving enough air on setting 1 to accomplish much.The only disappointment is the high price of the filters -- if you can find them. Online sources are much more reasonable, but availability seems spotty. I'm hoping this will improve moving forward.
Works great - read how to make them LAST a LONG time!
These filters work great in the 3M units which are MUCH better than ionizer air filters. The big problem people have with using the air purifiers is filter replacement costs.At my Practical, Healthy Stuff blog, I detail how to make the Filtrete filters really last! Basically, you attach the inexpensive, carbon prefilters from Honeywell (available here on Amazon) to the filter with velcro tape. These carbon filters are the exact right size, and they capture larger dust and gunk, as well as filter out chemicals and odors.Oh yeah, like they say here, vacuum each regularly and you may get over a year's use from them!

i could not find this item any place in my town found it on amazon and had it in a few day's , any time i order from amazon i recieve what i order in about a week or less and i live in alaska. i have never been disapointed with any item price wise or otherwise.

I am a medical marijuana user, a card carryer in Canada.
My landlord has given me permission to smoke in the apartment, if I can eliminate the smell.
I have a one room apartment, literally 3 feet from my door is the other persons
