Great Air Cleaner for a small bedroom....and other models with extremely effective filters that are very ,very reasonably pricedWe needed to get our house air cleaned because all of us have allergies. We have (2) two cats a lot of dust and pollen. I did a lot of research because our budget is way tight as most folks today. I couldn't afford to make a mistake and have to buy different equipment. There are many different manufacturers that offer all the bells and whistles. These are expensive air purifier units not only to buy but also the "Ongoing Cost" or cost of ownership for their filters.Here is what I concluded after exhaustive internet research together with talking to an industry *SME (*Subject Matter Expert not 3M) based on the current air cleaner market. For Allergy control you don't want or need the bells and whistles because they don't necessarily help you but can actually hurt you depending on *circumstances. Hepa filtration is great except for the price of the filters which is where the manufacturers make their money. 3M has the most economical priced series of air purifiers that run...

Good filter, wrong itemThis filter was advertised as able to fit several Winix air cleaners. Unfortunately, it did not fit mine (model wac 5000). Rather than send it back I managed to trim and "shoehorn" it into my existing filter holder. It seems to befunctioning well and the quality of the filter is good, but I only gave it three stars as warning to anyone ordering,to be sure and triple check model numbers. Winix makes a number of Hepa air cleaners, and I heard that Electroluxis now making the Plasmawave units with identical design. I do not know if the Electrolux filters are interchangeablebut I suspect not. Wouldn't it be great if manufacturers could reach agreement on a group of standardized sizesso that customers would not have to constantly research the tangled web of filter replacement???
confusing model number
My fault for not reading carefully, but when it says it fits the Winix 5000, that doesn't mean in fits the Winix WAC-5000. They are different sizes.
Excellent filter package!
We have a Winix Plasmawave 5300 that I got last year after I found out that our son is severely allergic to all kinds of grass. My unit just turned on the replace filter light and we have had the unit almost a full year. I do take the unit apart periodically and vacuum the filter which I think prolongs the life. The air quality in my home is greatly improved!

Multipurpose filter materialI found this to be good for replacing the carbon filters in my range hood. I can probably get about ten filters out of one sheet. I cut them oversized and fold them over the old filters, then slide them into place. The retainers hold the new material in place.
Excellent for Refrigerator Air Filter
I bought this to replace the carbon air filter in my refrigerator. The OEM filter is a piece of carbon paper in a little cardboard box with a cutout in one side. I simply opened the box, removed the paper, cut a piece of this to size, put in the box, and voila, new filter. This is much cheaper than buying the OEM filters and enough here to last me for years.

High quality as in that:1) it feels rigid and thick2) not dusty and no residue to come off that I could see3) quite dense from looking via lightI taped one to my HVAC filter (Filtrete rating 1900) and now my HVAC filters both particulate waste and gases like VOC, benzene, radon (yes!), etc.Better and way cheaper than Filtrate's new Odor Reduction line, which particulate filtration maxes out at only 1000.
