Cute shoe but terrible sizingI bought this ballet slipper for my 5yo daughter for her first ballet class. The shoe is very pretty, but the sizing is way off. I ordered her a size bigger, but it was still far too tight, and as her feet are pretty narrow, it was also way too wide. I returned this slipper (in the end, it cost me a ridiculous amount of money due to return shipping) and bought her ballet slippers at Payless which are her size and fit.
sizing confusion resolved?
These are cute and sweet ballet shoes, and Capezio is a stalwart in ballet wear. I saw all the confusion on sizing, and noticed that the size chart Amazon provides is the chart used by Amazon for all footwear. Having a few dance years under my belt, I'm familiar with the tendency toward sizing discrepancy in ballet shoes. I looked on dancedepot.com to find Capezio's size chart: http://www.dancedepot.com/Capezio_Sizing_Charts.html. According to that chart, style 205 (this shoe) is one of the ones that runs comparable to street size. Best bet is still to measure your child's foot anyway. Might I STRONGLY recommend going to a shoe store so they can do it with their magical slidey foot scale. It's *made* for measuring feet for shoes (unlike the tape measure in your sewing kit). Besides, if your (3-5 year old) is like mine, they'd much rather play along with the nice shoe store salesperson than Mama (eyes roll)...
Great ballet slipper, fits true to size
These ballet slippers are perfect. However, I don't know if they have possibly changed the sizing because I read the other reviews and followed their suggestion to order a half-size larger. And of course, they are too big now. Not terribly so, but enough that I wish I would have ordered my daughter's regular size. Oh, well. Four-year-olds grow fast, so I'm sure she'll grow into these by the time the dance recital comes around!I did measure her feet with a tape measure and compared it to the sizing chart provided. She measured right at an 11, so I ordered an 11.5. I definitely recommend measuring with a tape measure and ordering true to size.

Cute, Fits WellThey fit true to size. They look and feel like they should. They are good quality. My daughter seems to think that they're comfortable.They are a little narrow looking, but that's typical. They still fit my daughter's wide feet and the leather will stretch.I'm very pleased with them.
A good slipper
These are true to size, seem to be made well and the leather feels soft and comfortable. The little bow in front is actually like a draw string which can be tightened or loosened to fit.

Great Dance Shoe - Size Runs SmallThis dance shoe is constructed very well, but the size runs small. I purchased this shoe a half size larger than what my daughter wears and it was still too small. Consider buying a full size larger.
Great pair of ballet slippers
My 4 year old son recently started pre-ballet classes. There isn't anywhere around where I live to buy ballet slippers. I was apprehensive to order them after reading about the sizing issues many people have had. Here is my tip. Use the size chart Amazon offers for children's shoes. I measured his foot, it measured at size 11 1/2, so I ordered a 12 so he won't grow out of them so fast, and they fit just like I wanted them to, with a little bit of room to grow, but not too much. He wears a size 10 street shoe, so I did end up ordering up 2 sizes. I will also add that he has wide feet, but I ordered a D width (normal) and they are a bit tight, but I've been told they stretch to fit their width with wear. I'm very happy with the slippers, and so is my son, and he is picky about shoes that don't fit right. Remember, just use the size chart!

“I know a lot of people who wanted to come to UNC but didn’t because there isn’t a dance major” said Hines, who has danced with Carolina Style for three years. CDI or Carolina Dance Initiative is a UNC-CH student organization that works with the dance community on campus in efforts to show the university why a program is needed. “There are some girls in tap who haven’t met girls in jazz or ballet,” Hines said. The group’s advisor Vincas Steponaitis is the father of a former Carolina Style member who danced with the 15-year-old company in its earliest years. Despite the lack of an official program, Carolina Style still remains one of the most reputable campus dance groups. Steponaitis, described as a “dance dad” by the girls, assists in formalities and planning, but serves mostly as a supportive outlet because the students are able effectively manage the company themselves. The company is also one of the few campus dance groups that can fund a fall and spring showcase. “Many people want to pursue careers in dance, and UNC does not push them farther on that path,” she continued.
